Emily Gregonis

Biography

Emily Gregonis is a voice teacher, singer, instrumentalist, and musical-story-teller based in Connecticut. Emily currently performs Classical and Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) styles in the Greater Hartford and Tristate regions. Known for her use of vocal colors and connection to the human experience, Emily brings joy and authenticity to every performance.

Emily's first musical memory was playing "guess the song"- a game made up by her mom to pass the time on long car rides. She studied Suzuki violin at a young age before falling completely and utterly in love with Musical Theatre in high school. After completing her undergraduate degree, Emily found a unique blend of her talents while performing in the national tour of Once: The Musical.

Driven by a desire to better understand the voice, she earned her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Ithaca College, where she also developed a passion for teaching and researching CCM vocal pedagogy. While at Ithaca, Emily piloted a new three-course series titled The Singing Performer, focused on somatic awareness and using the body as an instrument to support healthy, expressive singing.

Emily is thrilled to be singing in the alto section of the Hartford Chorale and at Asylum Hill Congregational Church, and teaching with WD Studio and from her home .
